This paper (video format) introduces the R.U.L.E.® framework (Relearn, Unlearn, Learn, Explore), a structured, cyclical model designed to operationalize continuous transformation in increasingly volatile and nonlinear environments described as BANI (brittle, anxious, nonlinear, incomprehensible). While foundational frameworks such as Bloom’s Taxonomy, Maslow’s Hierarchy, and Kolb’s Experiential Learning Model provided essential insights within relatively stable contexts, accelerating technological, economic, and cognitive disruption has exposed limitations in linear, accumulation-based approaches to learning.

The central research problem addressed is how to design a framework that enables individuals and institutions not merely to adapt to change, but to proactively reconstruct their cognitive and operational architectures in conditions of persistent instability. Drawing on interdisciplinary foundations including cognitive psychology, systems thinking, developmental theory, and neuroscience, R.U.L.E. sequences four distinct yet interdependent phases.

Relearn surfaces prior knowledge and cognitive conditioning through structured reflection. Unlearn facilitates the deliberate release of outdated assumptions using principles of cognitive inhibition and dissonance. Learn enables reconstructive knowledge acquisition on cognitively cleared ground, improving depth and transferability. Explore advances beyond application into generative output, where learners produce original contributions and innovation.

Unlike static models, R.U.L.E. operates as a continuous cycle, positioning learning as an iterative process of renewal rather than accumulation. Empirical applications across educational and organizational contexts (2017–2026) demonstrate improvements in adaptability, critical thinking, and engagement. The framework contributes a dynamic methodology for lifelong transformation, aligning learning design with the demands of rapidly evolving global systems.
